What does Tristar Enterprises do?

Three business areas under one roof: Pakistan-origin commodity trading, renewable energy equipment sourcing, and shipping and chartering coordination. One counterparty for the cargo, the equipment and the tonnage.

Where do you source from?

Pakistan. Rice, sugar, salt, bran and wheat are sourced there against a written specification and sold to buyers abroad.

Which markets do you serve?

Importers, wholesalers, distributors, food manufacturers and feed mills internationally, alongside project developers, EPC contractors and industrial buyers on the energy side.

Can one enquiry cover more than one division?

Yes, and it often should. Buying cargo and moving it are handled by desks that talk to each other daily, so a single enquiry can cover trading, equipment and shipping together.

How do I start?

Send the specification, quantity, destination and delivery window through the contact form, or call the Karachi office. The enquiry goes to the desk that handles it.

Trading

Trading page
Which commodities does Tristar trade?

Rice, sugar, salt, bran and wheat, all sourced in Pakistan and sold to importers, wholesalers, distributors, food manufacturers and feed mills abroad. Each has its own page setting out product types, grading, packing and export.

Do you sell against a buyer's specification?

Yes, and it is the preferred way to work. Send the written specification you buy against and the desk quotes to it rather than offering a fixed list.

Who inspects the cargo before shipment?

Lots are checked against the contract before loading, and buyers are free to nominate their own independent surveyor. The inspection regime and who bears the cost are set in the contract before shipment.

Can one contract cover more than one commodity?

Yes. A mixed programme across the five groups runs through one counterparty, and the shipping desk can arrange the tonnage for it.

What documentation comes with a shipment?

The set is agreed in the contract and prepared for the destination market: typically commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin, and the inspection and phytosanitary certificates the importing country requires.

Can you pack under our own brand?

Yes, for rice. Private labelling is run as a defined programme covering specification, pack format, print and destination marking: set out in full on the rice page.

Rice

Rice page
Which Pakistani rice varieties can Tristar supply?

Aromatic basmati including Super Basmati, 1121 and traditional basmati; long-grain non-aromatic PK-386; and IRRI-6 and IRRI-9 from the Sindh belt. White, parboiled and sella forms are available across the range, along with graded broken fractions.

Do you sell against our own specification?

Yes, and it is the preferred way to work. Send the variety, grain length, broken percentage, moisture, milling degree and packing you buy against, and the desk quotes to that rather than offering a fixed list.

What is the difference between sella and white rice?

Sella is parboiled: the paddy is steamed in the husk before milling, which hardens the grain, improves cooking tolerance and gives a firmer, more separate cooked result. White rice is milled without that step and cooks softer. Golden and creamy sella differ in the degree of colour the process leaves.

Can you pack rice under our own brand?

Yes. Private labelling is a defined programme covering pack size, material, print, regulatory marking and export packing. You supply print-ready artwork and the specification; we confirm the technical requirements before a run is scheduled.

Do you ship in containers or in bulk?

Both. Containerised shipment suits packed retail and mid-size programmes; bulk suits high-volume non-aromatic contracts. The shipping desk arranges the tonnage alongside the cargo so routing and packing are decided together.

What documentation comes with a rice shipment?

The set is agreed in the contract and prepared for the destination market: typically commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin, and the inspection and phytosanitary certificates the importing country requires.

Sugar

Sugar page
What ICUMSA grades can you supply?

Sugar is quoted against a declared ICUMSA maximum agreed in the contract, covering refined white through to higher-colour mill white and industrial grades. Send the ICUMSA band, polarisation and moisture you buy against and the desk quotes to it.

What is the difference between refined and mill white sugar?

Refined white goes through a separate refining stage and sits at the low end of the colour scale. Mill white (plantation white) is produced without that stage, carries a higher colour value, and prices accordingly. Which one suits depends on whether colour matters in your process.

How is sugar protected against moisture in transit?

Through the packing specification. Sugar is hygroscopic, so bag material, lining and container preparation are chosen for the humidity and transit time of the route, and moisture at loading is capped in the contract.

Can sugar be supplied in retail packs under our brand?

Yes. Retail packing with buyer artwork is available, with pack size, print and destination-market marking agreed before a run is scheduled.

Is availability constant through the year?

Sugar availability moves with the crushing season and the export position of the origin, so the shipment window is agreed as part of the contract rather than assumed. The desk will say plainly what is achievable for a given window.

Salt

Salt page
Is Himalayan pink salt actually from Pakistan?

Yes. The salt sold internationally as Himalayan pink salt is mined from the salt range in Pakistan's Punjab region. It is a rock salt, mined from a deposit, rather than a sea salt produced by evaporation.

What forms can salt be supplied in?

Lump, crushed, granulated, fine and powdered, plus shaped pieces such as lamps, cooking slabs, tiles and animal licks. The mesh or size band is set in the specification.

How does edible salt differ from industrial salt here?

By grade and by what the specification controls. Edible grades are specified on purity, grain size and food suitability; industrial grades are specified on sodium chloride content, insolubles and particle size, and are priced for volume use rather than consumption.

Can salt be packed under our own label?

Yes. Custom and buyer-branded packing is available across the edible and gourmet grades: pack format, print and destination marking are agreed before the run.

Does the pink colour vary between shipments?

It varies naturally within any deposit, which is why the contract records an expected colour band rather than a single shade. Agreeing that band up front is what prevents a dispute on arrival.

Bran

Bran page
What is the difference between rice bran and de-oiled rice bran?

Full-fat rice bran still carries its oil, which makes it energy-dense in feed and usable as an extraction feedstock. De-oiled rice bran is what remains after extraction: higher in protein and fibre per tonne, and considerably more stable in storage.

How is bran quality guaranteed?

By contracting on analysis. Protein, fibre, oil, ash and moisture are declared in the contract and verified before shipment, with independent sampling where the buyer nominates it. Nothing is sold on description alone.

Why does moisture matter so much?

Bran spoils quickly when it ships wet, and moisture also inflates the weight being paid for. A maximum at loading is written into every contract for that reason.

Can bran be supplied in pellets?

Yes. Pelleting raises bulk density, cuts dust and makes both freight and mill intake more efficient: it is usually worth it on longer routes or where the buyer's handling favours pellets.

Is bran shipped in bags or in bulk?

Both. Bagged suits smaller lots and easier intake; bulk suits volume contracts where freight cost dominates. The choice is made alongside the analysis and the route.

Wheat

Wheat page
What protein bands can you supply?

Wheat is contracted against a declared protein band agreed before pricing, covering milling grades through to feed wheat. Tell the desk the band your mill or formulation needs and it will say what is achievable for your window.

What is the difference between milling wheat and feed wheat?

Milling wheat meets the protein, test weight and soundness specification a flour mill needs. Feed wheat falls outside that specification and is sold into compound feed on its energy contribution and price instead.

Why does test weight appear on the contract?

Hectolitre weight is a fast, objective indicator of grain soundness and of the milling yield a buyer can expect, which is why it sits alongside protein and moisture in almost every wheat contract.

Do you supply flour as well as grain?

Yes, where a buyer wants the finished product. Extraction rate, protein and packing are agreed in the same way the grain specification would be.

Is wheat available for export all year?

Availability moves with the harvest and the domestic position of the origin, so the shipment window forms part of the contract. The desk states what is realistic rather than promising a volume it cannot stand behind.

Renewable energy

Renewable Energy page
What does Tristar actually do in renewable energy?

Equipment sourcing, supplier evaluation, commercial coordination and shipment. We procure equipment against a technical specification and arrange its movement to site.

Do you design or install renewable systems?

No. Design and installation stay with your engineer or EPC contractor. We supply against the specification they set, and will flag gaps in a specification rather than fill them ourselves.

Do you manufacture any of this equipment?

No. Equipment is manufactured by the producers we source from, and their datasheets, test certificates and warranties travel with the shipment.

Which technologies do you cover?

Solar, wind, hydrogen and biomass. Each has its own page setting out the equipment categories and how supply is handled.

What do you need to quote?

The technical specification or bill of materials, the project size, the site location, the delivery window and the destination port.

Solar

Solar page
Does Tristar manufacture solar equipment?

No. Tristar sources and supplies equipment and coordinates the logistics that bring it in. Manufacturing is done by the producers whose equipment we procure, and the datasheets and warranties that travel with a shipment are theirs.

Do you design or install solar systems?

No. We supply against a specification your engineer or EPC contractor has set. Where a specification is incomplete we will say what is missing, but the design responsibility and the installation remain with your technical team.

Can you supply a complete package rather than single items?

Yes, and that is usually the more useful way to buy. Modules, inverters, storage, mounting and balance of system can be procured together, with compatibility checked across the package before anything is ordered.

What do you need to quote a solar package?

The electrical and mechanical specification, the system size, the site location and grid conditions, the delivery window and the destination port. With those the desk can put together a real equipment list rather than an indicative one.

How is equipment shipped?

Containerised for most packages, break-bulk where structures or containerised storage systems require it. Freight is arranged alongside the order so delivery is sequenced to the site programme rather than arriving in the wrong order.

Wind

Wind page
Does Tristar manufacture wind turbines?

No. Turbines and their major components are manufactured by the producers whose equipment we source. Tristar's role is sourcing, commercial coordination and arranging the movement of that equipment to site.

What makes wind equipment different to ship?

Size and value. Blades and tower sections are oversized cargo needing route survey, suitable vessels, lifting plans and port capability confirmed in advance. Treating it as ordinary freight is how projects lose months.

Can you handle offshore project requirements?

Offshore introduces marine installation constraints and specialised vessel and port requirements. We coordinate sourcing and movement against those constraints through the shipping desk and a partner network, rather than claiming installation capability we do not have.

Do you supply spares for operating sites?

Yes. Spares and consumables are sourced against the part specification, and on that work lead time is usually the deciding factor rather than unit price.

What information do you need to start?

The equipment specification or bill of materials, component dimensions and weights, the destination port and site, and the delivery window. Those four determine both what can be sourced and how it can realistically be moved.

Hydrogen

Hydrogen page
Does Tristar produce hydrogen?

No. Tristar does not produce hydrogen, operate production facilities or own hydrogen infrastructure. The role is sourcing and supplying equipment, and coordinating its movement.

What is green hydrogen?

Hydrogen produced by electrolysis using renewable electricity, so that production itself carries no direct carbon emissions. It is distinguished from blue hydrogen, made from natural gas with carbon capture, and grey hydrogen, made from natural gas without it.

Is hydrogen equipment commercially available today?

Electrolysers, compression, storage and handling equipment are commercially available and in industrial use. What is still developing is large-scale project economics, which vary considerably with power price and region. The desk will give a straight answer on availability and lead time rather than an optimistic one.

What makes hydrogen different to handle?

It is the smallest molecule, which makes containment and material selection critical, and it has a wide flammability range. Storage, piping, valves and detection all have to be specified for hydrogen service rather than adapted from other gases.

What do you need to quote hydrogen equipment?

The production rate or storage volume required, the purity and pressure, the power available if electrolysis is involved, the site location and the delivery window.

Biomass

Biomass page
What biomass feedstocks are available from Pakistan?

Principally agricultural residues: rice husk from milling, wheat straw from cereal harvest, and bagasse from sugarcane crushing. These are by-products of existing agriculture rather than purpose-grown fuel crops.

How is biomass fuel specified?

On analysis, like any commodity: calorific value, moisture, ash content and particle size or pellet dimension. Those are declared in the contract and verified before shipment.

Why are pellets used instead of raw biomass?

Density. Raw residues are bulky and expensive to move; pelleting and briquetting raise bulk density, cut dust, improve storage and make longer-distance trade economic. Whether it is worth it depends on route and the buyer's boiler.

Is biomass supply seasonal?

Partly. Residue generation follows harvest and crushing seasons, so the contract window matters. Storage smooths some of that, and the desk will say what is realistic for a given delivery period rather than assume year-round parity.

Does Tristar operate biomass power plants?

No. Tristar sources and trades biomass feedstock and fuel, and sources processing equipment for producers. It does not own or operate generation assets.

Shipping

Shipping page
Does Tristar own vessels or terminals?

No. Tristar coordinates and arranges shipping through a partner network of owners, brokers, port agents and hauliers. It does not own vessels, terminals, warehouses or port infrastructure, and does not present itself as doing so.

What kinds of charter can you arrange?

Voyage charters, time charters and contracts of affreightment for repeat cargo, negotiated through the owner and broker market on the buyer's behalf.

What cargo do you handle?

Dry bulk and breakbulk, principally agricultural commodities in bulk and in bags, plus project and oversized cargo such as renewable energy equipment, and containerised consignments.

Who handles laytime and demurrage?

Laytime, demurrage and despatch are negotiated into the charter party before fixing, and the statement of facts is followed through to settlement, so a claim is a calculation rather than something discovered after the vessel has sailed.

Can you arrange shipping for cargo we bought elsewhere?

Yes. Shipping is offered as a service in its own right, not only alongside a Tristar trading contract.

What do you need to look for tonnage?

The cargo and quantity, the load and discharge ports, the laycan window you are working to, and any draft or gear restriction at either end.

Enquiries

Contact page
What should I include in an enquiry?

The specification you buy against, the quantity, the destination port and the delivery window. With those four the desk can answer properly instead of coming back with questions.

How quickly will I get a reply?

Enquiries go straight to the desk that handles them rather than into a general inbox, and are answered in the order they arrive. If a shipment is time-critical, say so in the first line of the message or call the Karachi office directly.

Can you quote without a full specification?

The desk can talk through options and indicate what is achievable, but a firm quotation needs a specification: grade, packing, destination and window all move the price.

What are your office hours?

The head office on Tariq Road works regular business hours through the week, Pakistan Standard Time. Email reaches the desk at any hour; for a call or a visit, send an enquiry or phone ahead and the desk will confirm a time that works.

Can we visit the office?

Visitors are welcome by arrangement. The head office is on Tariq Road in Karachi; send an enquiry or call ahead so the right people are in.

Not answered here?

Send the specification you are working to and the desk replies with a position, not a questionnaire.
